Summary:

We are looking for a Business Operations Engineering Manager to lead the Business Operations Engineering team at Facebook. Business Operations Engineering focuses on building, maintaining and enhancing the back office tools that the Facebook operations team rely on to help resolve issues for our community and partners. Those who join this team are passionate about working with cross-functional partners to improve their operational efficiency through the development of tooling and infrastructure. This is your chance to lead the team that helps build the tools and systems that ensure that people who use and rely on Facebook have the best possible experiences. This role is based out of our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Leading a team of highly talented engineers as they work closely with our Operations teams to help them build and maintain high quality, efficient scaled support systems. You will be responsible for ensuring our Media Operations, IP Privacy Operations, Risk & Payments Operations and Workplace Operations teams have the necessary tools in place to ensure we have the right systems in place to support new product launches or new product features.

  2. Assess & build a common set of tools that are needed across a number of operational teams.

  3. Engage with the operations and product engineering teams to build and drive impactful improvements to our tools and processes.

  4. Build and lead a highly talented infrastructure team to solve hard problems scaling how our operational teams support a growing community.

  5. Deliver robust, scalable, technical and operational solutions through tooling, which are easily extended to support new products.

  6. Become an expert in our products, our internal operational tools and the needs of internal stakeholders by providing effective technical consultation.

  7. Provide data-driven product insights and operational reporting to cross-functional partners to take appropriate action.

  8. Deliver data-driven, impactful results.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years experience managing a highly technical team.

  2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent degree and experience).

  3. 3+ years of experience in software development.

  4. Programming abilities in one or more of the following languages: Java, PHP, Python, JavaScript, C++.

  5. Demonstrated problem-solving approach and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in an operational or support role.

  2. Sigma / Haskell experience or knowledge.
