Summary:

Facebook is seeking a highly quantitative, driven, and creative Analyst/Associate for their Global Ads Business Operations team in Menlo Park, CA. This position will focus on Facebook’s core advertising business, and will require cross-functional coordination across several groups, including finance, sales, product, data analytics, and business intelligence. The successful candidate will combine strategic planning, financial analysis, and decision-making with deep data analytics and insights. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Facebook, have a demonstrated interest in data and technology, work well independently, and be highly analytical. This role will challenge the candidate to understand and contribute to many facets of marketing and business strategy, including product analytics, market opportunity, data management, and reporting.

Required Skills:

  1. Maintain/create core reporting and analytics infrastructure and models while proactively surfacing opportunities

  2. Autonomously handle ad-hoc requests from the business

  3. Analyze current business performance and build statistical models to extrapolate current and historical trends into forward-looking forecasts

  4. Provide deep analytic support and business context to identify and drive critical growth initiatives

  5. Conduct revenue analysis to identify trends and factors of growth

  6. Demonstrate the ability to influence outcomes and decisions (not just report on analytics)

  7. Monitor forecasts and benchmark performance while understanding the sources of deviation

  8. Analyze large datasets and partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to interpret findings and identify actionable insights and opportunities

  9. Understand key financial drivers of the business

  10. Design, lead and execute analysis and effectively communicate insights

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS or MS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or other quantitative field

  2. 2+ years of experience in business strategy, finance, analytics or planning experience

  3. SQL skills

  4. Microsoft Excel experience

  5. Statistical/ analytical experience

  6. Ability to shift priorities quickly, while maintaining a high degree of organization and control

  7. Highly motivated, and able to think under pressure

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Development experience in at least one scripting language (PHP, Python, Perl, etc.)

  2. Experience in investment banking/finance or strategy consulting with a focus on technology and/or media

  3. Ability to problem-solve individually or in a group setting

  4. Understand key financial drivers of the business
