The Business Continuity and Crisis Management Manager will provide management expertise and strategic guidance for Facebook’s Global Business Continuity and Crisis Management Programs. Develops strategies, plans, training and exercises that help our global businesses prepare for disruptions. Drives reporting of business continuity and crisis management activities and adequacy of business unit plans for critical business areas of operations. The Manager will provide subject matter expertise to leadership in the identification, classification and enhancement of business continuity and crisis management strategies to mitigate risks associated with business disruptions and return business to normal operations. Collaborates with internal and external partners to protect Facebook’s assets and ensure readiness for all hazards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leads and supports the development and implementation of business continuity and crisis management policies, plans, procedures, and best practices that are required across all business areas.
Works with key partners for full integration with security, emergency management, business continuity, and IT/Infrastructure disaster recovery planning.
Evaluate and build upon our Business Continuity implementation and testing methodologies, including ongoing strategic business impact analysis.
Provides thought leadership in initiating improvements to mitigate risk and developing partnerships to implement changes.
Actively participate in stakeholder committees or working groups to identify and mitigate risk associated with potential business disruptions, and to help integrate all areas of the business into continuity planning.
Regularly communicates updates on incidents, emerging risks, and other issues that may impact Facebook’s business operations, employees, or users.
Communicates value-added recommendations to leadership and promotes the value of crisis management and business continuity to leadership, and all business functions globally.
Establishes and monitors performance metrics to determine the effectiveness of the program.
Provide the team with professional, specialized skills, including business continuity planning, crisis management, project management, problem analysis/resolution and strategic planning
Five or more years of experience in crisis management or business continuity.
Proven ability to manage initiatives across multiple teams/platforms.
Possesses planning, organizational, and motivational skills
Experience working on projects and strategic plans
Experience in root cause analysis, industry benchmarking, survey evaluation and data interpretation
Possesses knowledge and experience in the areas of business resiliency, emergency/disaster management, physical security, critical incident stress management, risk management, and familiar with emergency procedure protocols and regulatory interfaces.
Able to write clearly and succinctly in technical and non-technical formats
Business Continuity certification
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
