Facebook's Connectivity Labs team is looking for an experienced Engineer to Design, Build and Analyze Flight Controls for our High Altitude, Long Endurance UAV.
Design control law for high-altitude flexible unmanned air vehicle
Build non-linear aeroelastic 6DOF simulation
Analyze performance (stress testing, trade studies, mission analysis)
Perform linear control analysis
Responsible for embedded flight control software design, code, and test
Support flight testing and post-flight analysis
Perform model validation and system identification
Troubleshooting, debugging, and anomaly investigation
M.Sc or PhD in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline such as: flight sciences, control law development, and control system analysis with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Or B.Sc./B.Eng in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline such as: flight sciences, control law development, and control system analysis with a minimum of 7 years of experience
3+ years of experience in flight control law analysis and synthesis
Knowledge of non-linear 6DOF simulation, rigid body and flexible body dynamics
Understand impacts of aeroelasticity and environment of flying at high altitude
Work experience in UAV guidance and contingency management
Knowledge of MATLAB, SIMULINK, C/C++
- Experience in control design for aircraft
