Summary:

Instagram’s community team is responsible for discovering and elevating distinctive voices from our 500 million+ active users. We produce features for Instagram’s editorial channels, and inspire and support events such as InstaMeets all over the world.

As a Data Insights Manager on the community team, your primary focus will be using data to provide research and insights that ground the team's editorial community, building and discovering driving initiatives.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead projects cross-functionally with internal groups to support the data needs of various outreach projects

  2. Formulate and execute strategy for using data to inform editorial programming across all surfaces the Community Team manages

  3. Think creatively about how data can drive consumer stories for Instagram's global community

  4. Conduct in-depth research on Instagram usage and engagement

  5. Build and maintain an archive of key research findings, and develop benchmarking capabilities and innovative new ways of telling interesting data stories

  6. Work with visualization peers to bring key data patterns to life

  7. Surface relevant third-party research to key partner teams within Community Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of experience using data to draw conclusions and tell stories

  2. Advanced degree in psychology, statistics, economics, behavioral or social science or a related quantitative field preferred

  3. Experience with statistical and data analysis using SQL or similar (HIVE experience a plus)

  4. Experience visualizing large and diverse data sets

  5. Experience using data sets to develop data-oriented storytelling

  6. Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner

  7. Passionate about Instagram

  2. Advanced degree in psychology, statistics, economics, behavioral or social science or a related quantitative field preferred
