Instagram’s Community Team is responsible for discovering, elevating, celebrating and educating distinctive voices from our 700 million+ active users. Through editorial, digital campaigns and physical outreach moments like InstaMeets, we highlight and connect with voices from the community.
As a Community Programs Manager on the EMEA Community Team, your primary focus will be to develop, coordinate, implement and scale our community engagement and outreach efforts — both on and offline — within Germany, Central Europe and Benelux.
This role requires past experience in programs/event management, as well as pulling and using data to inform and evolve ongoing strategy decisions. Applicants should feel comfortable being an advocate for the market, a spokesperson both internally and externally, and they must speak and write German fluently. Other regional languages a plus.
This position can be based in Hamburg or London.
Engage communities within Germany, Central Europe and Benelux by elevating their voices, connecting them to their passions and facilitating on- and offline initiatives and events
Develop a strategy that scales our online and offline community engagement efforts without losing Instagram's warmth
Take a data-driven approach to identifying and engaging communities and regions, set and track metrics to evaluate the success of each program
Work across several cross-functional teams and projects, including Comms, Policy, Partnerships, Marketing, Business and Community Content, to produce engaging, shareable high-impact outreach programs
Help the Community Content Team discover and elevate emerging community voices via the German-speaking @InstagramDE account. Ensure program work has a presence across editorial and provide local insight for the calendaring teams.
Identify and communicate regional issues to other teams in Instagram, help the teams better understand your community, including what prompts people to share
Make Instagram Stories a core focus of everything you do and gather community member feedback to support ongoing product decisions
Adapt to new strategies as the product and community evolves, pivot as needed to new trends, goals and objectives
Work closely with Instagram's Director of Global Community Programs and Regional Community Lead, EMEA, as well as colleagues with similar positions across the world, to share lessons from your region
6+ years of experience working in senior social media, marketing or community building roles, with a good background in engaging communities, both online and off, including digital campaigns and on-the-ground event execution
Experience using data to form strategies, evaluate success and meet goals
SQL experience is a plus
Strong experience working as a team player, sharing responsibilities and objectives with peers
Experience working with global, cross-functional teams and/or remote working, with a willingness to travel
Experience working with young demographics, small businesses and communities of support is a plus
Strong editorial judgement, with a good understanding of socially-driven and digital short-form content
Strong understanding of Instagram and social media usage across the region
Demonstrable passion for the Instagram community
Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
Fluency in English and German to professional standards. Additional European language, a plus.
