Summary:
Facebook is seeking an Abuse Analyst/Investigator, ideal for someone with an investigations background, a passion for criminology, and problem-solving skills. The investigator will work side by side our eCrime, Legal, and Human Resources teams. This is a unique opportunity to protect the data and privacy of our company, employees, and community by detecting, investigating, and mitigating abuse. Ideal candidates will be well organized, have strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate sound judgment, and be confident working independently with direction from Security management. This is a full-time position based in our Dublin Office.

Required Skills:

  1. Review and escalate alerts of potentially suspicious tools and data use, including anomalous activity

  2. Conduct investigations with objectivity, empathy, respect, and discretion

  3. Participate in the on-call schedule, responding to inbound requests and surfacing areas of operational improvements

  4. Summarize and present information from investigations and reports to internal teams

  5. Identify and consult on the design of countermeasures to stop abuse

  6. Gather and synthesize relevant data, suggesting updates to tools, processes, and techniques to help scale the team

  7. Interface with outside partners such as legal, law enforcement, and industry when appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree or higher

  2. 2+ years experience in cyber crime investigations or similar

    1. Working knowledge of a variety of Internet research tools

    2. SQL experience

    3. Ability to interpret information from multiple sources and work with large data sets

    4. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with an enthusiasm for learning new things

    5. Strong initiative, taking on tasks without prompting

    6. Proven ability to execute on multiple tasks simultaneously

    7. Capacity to work in stressful situations with a sense of urgency

    8. Exceptional organizational and time management skills

    9. Accomplished team player who is highly collaborative

    10. Ability and inclination to protect highly confidential information

    11. Experience conducting independent and thorough examination and analysis

    12. Mission-driven, extremely reliable, hard-working

    13. Passionate about the subject of anti-abuse work

    14. Broad understanding of global conflicts/issues

    15. Multiple languages proficiency preferred
